a digital reproduction of cyanotype print

I embarked on my exploration of cyanotype printing approximately a decade ago. It has proven to be a uniquely enjoyable and fulfilling process to engage in. Cyanotype printing, often referred to as blueprinting, is a fascinating photographic technique that produces a striking blue image against a white or light-colored background. This artistic method is relatively simple and cost-effective, involving the exposure of a light-sensitive emulsion to ultraviolet (UV) light, which typically comes from sunlight. The final result is a captivating silhouette of the objects that have been carefully placed on the sensitized paper, resulting in a beautifully unique artistic effect that is both appealing and intriguing.

I utilize a digital reprographic process to produce these prints, which enhances their accessibility.  The process of scanning a cyanotype print and then printing a copy on an inkjet printer can be described as a form of digital reprographic art.  The cyanotype print is scanned to create a high-quality digital image, which is subsequently printed using advanced inkjet technology onto a variety of paper or other media, thus allowing for the digital reproduction of the original cyanotype.
